Rugged ADCP
Arete, a leading-edge science and engineering company, is developing a rugged acoustic Doppler current profiler (R-ADCP) for use within Navy platforms and autonomous vehicle fleets. R-ADCP uses a phased array transducer enabling high flexibility of measurement modes, from digitally formed beams operating like a commercial ADCP to future swath imaging modes for spatio-temporal measurements of velocity fields. Its software defined processing architecture provides access to standard and custom Doppler processing techniques, allowing users to utilize robust operational measurement modes for environment characterization or research focused techniques for directed studies and experiments. R-ADCP is designed to be compact and securely upgradable due to its modular system architecture. This gives the Navy advanced current measurement capabilities on various platforms, improving operator understanding of their environment.
Areté’s phased array rugged acoustic Doppler current profiler (R-ADCP) provides a software-defined sonar system delivering secure data handling in a compact system. Ruggedly designed for long-duration deployments on Navy platforms, R-ADCP supports both research and operational requirements.
